My List of Online Teaching/Learning Platforms

Children clapping and jumping on their seats with their eyes glistening and faces full of excitement. Seeing them like this has been my ultimate goal, whenever I design a learning experience.

Teaching online was a different story. I thought that reaching the same goal is gonna be close to impossible, if I teach my former students online. It was really daunting at first. I was wrong, though. Distance Learning can be as effective and fun as the face-to-face interaction, if we have the right tools, right methods, and right mindset. Education should evolve with the digital society, anyway. This is the best time to seize it.

Anyway, I’m sharing my list of online platforms designed for teaching and apps for learning. I hope this helps.

For teaching a big class size:
• Moodle
• Blackboard
• Canvas
• Brightspace
• Khan Academy Kids
• Edmodo
• Wordpress - https://altc.alt.ac.uk/blog/2017/03/developing-a-learning-environment-in-wordpress/
Only the last 5 are for free, though.

For teaching one-on-one or students in pairs, I personally use these:
• Keynote
• Quizlet
• Kahoot
• Padlet
• Scribble
• Scratch
All are free apps, except for Scratch which is a website that offers free programming language. Not sure if available in Android gadgets too, tho.

For free online courses (You have the option to get a certificate at the end, but you have to pay for it.):
• Udemy
• edX
• Tesda
• Khan Academy
• Coursera - My fave! Currently taking “Getting Interactive: Practical Teaching with Technology.” Using it is as convenient as checking a phone.

Feel free to message me if you have questions, suggestions, or recommendations. We’re in this together, teachers! 💕
